Interior Disinfection
There is an increasingly urgent need to develop practical, effective, and low-cost systems for effectively disinfecting or decontaminating interior spaces. Bacteria, virus, mold and other airborne pathogens are a major issue in hospitals, workplaces, schools, theatres, airplanes, cruise ships, and other enclosed spaces where people congregate. Individuals or animals exposed to such pathogens often serve as carriers, effectively spreading them. Additionally, medical institutions ranging from third-world clinics to the most prestigious facilities in developed countries constantly battle pathogen introduction by their patients.
Current disinfection methods employing UV light and filters have little-to-no efficacy in surface decontamination and have not proven to be effective in removing bacteria and viruses from the air.
